A Short History of Vorwerk Kobold

In 1883, Carl and Adolf Vorwerk established a carpet weaving company in Wuppertal Germany and they named it after their last name. The company grew and in the 1920s, they saw a market need for cleaning carpets in the homes rather removing them and having them professionally cleaned. Thus Vorwerk invented the original Kobold upright vacuum cleaner in 1929 – one of the first vacuum cleaners of its kind in the world. 

Kobold now stands as a world leader in home cleaning. Kobold products are user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly, they have a reputation for long-lasting performance and quality. Thanks to their sophisticated filter technology with an integrated odor and hygiene microfilter, our products are particularly ideal for allergy sufferers.
