Thermomix Kitchen Appliance

The success story of the Thermomix kitchen appliance began in France back in 1970. Because thickened soups were a favorite there, the then managing director of Vorwerk France came up with the idea of designing a machine that could blend and cook all at the same time. The idea met with great enthusiasm at Vorwerk and a short time later, in 1971, the original Thermomix VM 2000 was launched on the market – first in France, then later in Spain and Italy, too. Since then, Vorwerk has continued to develop new models with better performance and new functions, the latest of which is the Thermomix 31, for which 23 patents have been registered.

The Thermomix TM31 minces, chops, purees, weighs, stirs, grates, grinds, blends, cooks and simmers; in fact, it does the work of at least twelve kitchen devices and practically cleans itself when food preparation is done. And with the Varoma steamer unit, the Thermomix can produce a full meal for four in just half an hour. And not only that: The Thermomix locks in the full flavor of the ingredients and their valuable vitamins and minerals.

The Division in Figures

Division Thermomix has been growing steadily in recent years and in 2011, generated sales totaling € 591,1m.
Almost 24,000 representatives, mostly part-timers, sell the Thermomix in customers’ homes through the party system or on recommendation. The main markets are Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Portugal.
